Since graduating with a degree in Fine Art from Canterbury Christ Church University in 1999 I have been painting and refining my personal style. Having specialised in abstract paintings for the majority of my Degree I wanted to make sure that I also had a firm grounding in the technical aspects of painting and drawing. I feel this is apparent in my work today. Although I do paint the occasional Landscape, the subject matter I feel most passionate about is Still Life. Although I no longer make Abstract paintings I approach my Still Lifes with the same mind-set. It is more about the positioning of the objects and the contrast of the colours chosen, rather than an accurate representation of the subject matter. I aim for my paintings to be quiet meditations upon their subject. This is in stark contrast to the hectic clutter of our every day lives.
